I hear ya Keith.
For me it was a toss between LeWeb3 and FutureOfWebApps.
I was at FOWA last year. It was good in that I finally met Fergus, Ed Byrne, Alan O'Rourke, Emmet and a few other irish web2 heads but I didn't get any leads from it.
I'm hoping LeWeb3 will be worth the 800+ euros it's costing.

I've been having the same struggle with both the it@cork conference and Le Web 3. I need to be sure that the networking opportunities are real and that they are not just jollies.

Obviously, if we secure the funding in the next few weeks then we'll be going to both.

FOWA is a pretty reasonable price (early bird non-workshop is Ã‚Â£155+VAT). Add in a crappy hotel and dirt cheap flights and I think it makes sense for me. We should also be on the cusp of full public release at that stage so the timing is good.
