Best ever. South Africa followed by Petrus. Great cooking and a storm-out. Liz FTW.
I take back every negative thing I said about Masterchef, this was fabulous TV. So many things were right. Cooking on BBQs in the bush was fun. Cooking in the South African restaurant looked like hell at 45C. And then back to Petrus, home of the greatest meal we've ever eaten.
The pressure was unbelievable. After Andi did the drama queen thing in Africa, he pulled out all the stops here. Liz seemed to be handling the pressure well. And then.......Mark snaps and walks out. Drama, confusion, bemusement.
The compliments handed out by Michel Roux and the other Michelin starred chefs were amazing.
Whilst Andi is still technically the best, he lacks soul, he lacks ability to handle pressure and he hasn't actually improved that much. Liz, on the other hand, started with zero knowledge and is now a great chef. My heart wants her to win. We'll find out tonight!
