This was one of two I tried on the BBQ yesterday. Whilst not offensive, it is pretty insipid and expensive too. I used it on a set of chicken breasts and marinated them overnight. I then put them on skewers and bbqed them over lumpwood charcoal.
The main taste was one of sweetness with a slight smokey flavour in the background. No-one was particularly fond of the result but no-one asked for seconds either.
This really doesn't compare with proper US BBQ sauces and to be honest I find the whole Cottage Delight thing to be an easy way for delis/butchers to have a stock of sauces at excessive prices.
