Santa got excellent customer service here: thank you, Maria. My big transaction was subdivided to make best use of the in-house discount card scheme, which I wouldn't have known about otherwise; my rights re Data Protection Act were explained to me as necessary; and the option to buy the relevant kinds of batteries was pointed out ditto. All this, patiently, with pleasant, anodyne conversation and a smile. Behind the collection counter it looked as though things were running smoothly with efficiency to spare. Free parking too. Granted, this was a Sunday, but if I have to return before Christmas, the prospect won't fill me with dread.
