Cheaper than that average Marlborough, we bought this to see if it tasted as good. Nelson is described as the hottest area of NZ and the bottle mentions passionfruit.
Overall I was happy with it but still prefer the Marlboroughs. The lack of that gooseberry zing is noticable and it is a much softer wine with muted grapefruit tones.
I would love to know why no-one can replicate that Marlborough taste anywhere else in the world. All the South American and South African wine is a pale imitation and only sometimes can you find a Sancerre which comes close.
