The first episode of this new series was disappointing. Having enjoyed the previous seasons of this American TV comedy, this opening episode dragged along and wasn't as funny or entertaining as usual.
The Botwin family are on the move and this episode concentrates more on them and the up until now not seen character: Judah's father. Doug and Celia who previously have provided much of the humour dont feature as much which is a pity.
Humour more dark, laughs fewer. Am hoping it improves as the series progresses.

it's "Botwin", not "Bodkin"

Just finished watching this series and have to say it did improve dramatically from the opening couple of episodes. I think it always needs some humour, usually supplied by Doug, Celia or Andy, to counteract the darker themes. Enjoyed the tension of the finale and am definitely looking forward to the next series.
