The same formula as the excellent wine series but less successful. UK beer too familiar perhaps?

I think you're being a bit harsh. Let's give it a couple of episodes at least before we give up on it.
I'm still enjoying the banter between Oz and James and found the programme to be quite informative and entertaining. They didnt seem too impressed with teh English wine tasted, their faces addressed the tartness of it. Funny.
Will keep watching for a while more.

I agree. It should be given a bit of time, but can't see it being as good as the wine series. There's so much more to wine. And yes, I might have been curiously brainwashed to an extent.

I was surprised that the Oz and James' trip to see Irish brewing didn't include the Bronze Age beer making by Irish Archaeologists Declan Moore and Billy Quinn, based in Galway - they have a great wee film of the brewing on YouTube - Billy and Dec's Bronze Age Beer - apparently the stuff is v good!!!!
Now that would have been something completely different, especially since I was a bit tried of the portrayal of Dublin for the most part!!!
