I'm blowing so hot and cold on this series (as the bishop.....). This one appealed to me greatly and once again shows that getting rid of the rampant campness is a good thing.
If you have been following the series, you'll know that Owen is "dead" having been shot two episodes ago. Through the magic of the special glove he was brought back but unfortunately he is efectively "undead". Never getting older but unable to repair any damage to his body and all functions (digestion etc) shut down.
This episode dealt with his mental anguish at being in this predicament and I thought they did it very well. Hanging the entire episode around his conversation with a suicidal woman on top of a building worked incredibly well.
The plotline around the "mysterious energy source" was a bit silly and pointless despite being hooked into the Owen story. How many random alien artifacts can they lob in as plot devices to tie things together?
But I'll forgive them that since the quality of the writing is coming on in leaps and bounds and the acting doesn't make you cringe any more. I think they have me hooked for the rest of the season
