Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport

Whilst the Crowne Plaza is a lovely hotel for an event, their room rate is not so lovely. The Holiday Inn Express is literally next door - the walk is possibly sixtry seconds at a push - with a standard room rate of €89 a night. Using LateRooms.com we were able to get a rate of €60 per room per night including breakfast, which you really cannot beat.
The rooms were surprisingly great: a good size, well lit, extremely clean, cheerful bathrooms, and very comfortable beds. Downside: very limited room service, no cable TV, and possibly a little spartan with the quantity of tea, coffee, kleenex and other economy-prone amenities. But for €60 you'll live for a night, and very comfortably at that.
Extremely bizarre: the full QWERTY keyboard with directions attached that clearly outline it has no function whatsoever except as a very large remote control - you can use the arrow keys to make selections on the TV's menu. Just like you can with the, err, handy television remote control that's also thoughtfully provided - thus making the keyboard officially the most useless object ever.
