We were welcomed and given the option of an upgrade which we took. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we intend returning to Amsterdam in the near future and would stay at the Jan Lyken if it were available. The Hotel and staff were superb and an example to anyone. One suggestion: we arrived at the Hotel having spent 11 days cruising the Rhine, thus we had two heavy suitcases, there was only a pouffe/footstool to support one of our suitcases. A collapsing cradle type support would have been extremely useful with perhaps another on request from the conceige, this would have saved the strain on my back. A tiny irritation on what was otherwise a faultless hotel.
