Katherine Lynch's Wonder Women

Lewd, crude, offensive and sometimes hilarious. Digs at Nigerians, Tallaght, Leitrim and Travellers.
I know I know, I shouldn't find it funny but I was doubled over in laughter for lots of it. The Nigerian scams were just fantastic. "Goat Alone" where she brings goats back from Africa that people bought as charity gifts "because they can't stand the heat". Mohill like you've never seen it with Liz Hurley. The "Gypsy Rose" was worthy of any spoof TV programme ever.
I think the fact that Katherine is a woman being crude makes it even funnier. None of the coyness of Smack The Pony, just straight-up bawdy humour.
The only sketch which didn't work at all was the Youtubey D4ey one but now that Podge and Rodge are past their sell-by date, they have been replaced.

I thought it was very hit and miss. The odd genius line made up for alot of somewhat clichéd and old "jokes". Loved the "sure why would you want to go on holiday abroad when you have Leitrim's mile of coastline?"
But definitely worth watching for the odd gem.

mate you got to be off your head to find any of that show funny, you must have very underdeveloped sense of humour! get out more, or do something!
you would not know a funny show if it bite you on the arse

Ah bless, another Leitrim person unhappy with their portrayal and their inability to construct a sentence.

You've never been to Leitrim or Mohill if you think that we can't poke fun at oursleves or take a joke, our whole lives the rest of Ireland have done it - so whats new? Katherine is living proof that we can (as well as we can form sentences actually!). BTW Conor, your own sentence leaves a lot to be desired "Ah bless, another Leitrim PERSON unhappy with THEIR portrayal and THEIR inability to construct a sentence." Just who needs grammar lessons???
Conor O'Neill at 13:41 - 11 Nov, 2008 said:
*cough*, you do, clearly. How would you write that sentence?
Blair Millen at 14:05 - 11 Nov, 2008 said:
Yep, there's nothing wrong with Conor sentence... unless he magically edited it? :-)

TBH, the second episode was very weak and it's already showing signs of too much repetition but at least she's giving it a go and trying for Irish-style crudity.

Honestly, I think it's absolute rubbish.
Poor attempts at humour.

Good to see my license fee is going to good use! The Katherine Lynch show is an all time low, even for RTE. Is this really what constitutes contemporary Irish comedy. Christ, Fr. Ted would be rolling in his grave...
She simply isn't funny. She makes Jo Brand look like a comedy genius.
Shame on you lazy RTE, shame on you.
