This started very badly with a gaggle of incompetent hasbeens annoying me. Now at last 3, it's fantastic. Yes the formula is starting to grate badly but finding a natural cook like Liz warms the cockles of your heart.
I think Masterchef is in need of a big revamp. The constant repetition to fill the 30 minutes is unbearable without Sky+ or Tivo. The Celebrity one really isn't. Why don't they call it HasBeens & Neverweres Masterchef? At least it'd be more accurate.
But I love my food programmes and stuck with it to find the last few episodes exciting. The unrelenting campness of Andi vs the edge of tears Mark vs the aving-a-larf Liz is actually perfect. Now that the dross is gone, they have three people who actually want to win and have some talent.
Last night's was one of my annual favourites - cooking for the troops. Always a tense one, always fun.
At this point it looks like Andi is racing away from the others. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get the win. The audience favourite is surely Liz. Would they fix it to get the media-friendly result? We'll find out very soon.
