I was given a loan of these amazing devices yesterday. I was actually shocked by the sound quality. Sure they cost a lot but if you value ultra-high-end audio then you need to get your hands on a pair. They are billed as the world's smallest and lightest full-range in-ear headphones.

I'll be honest, I'm no audiophile. Most of the time I listen to crappy MP3s on my phone using the headphones that came with it. I have one half-decent pair of in-ear-canal OEMed Logitechs which cost me €40 on eBay a few years ago. Until yesterday they hadn't been matched but now the scales have fallen from my ears (apologies for the terrible pun).

I tested the Klipsch headphones on both an iPhone and a laptop, playing the opening track from the Kills at 192kbs WMA, 192kbs MP3 and in FLAC format. Wow wow wow, I honestly have never heard quality like this in my forty years on this planet. Every instrument perfectly defined and separated, every detail crisp, no distortion, no criticism. The word that kept going through my head was "clarity". I am so used to dull lifeless audio that this blew me away.

On top of the audio quality, the shape of the plugs is brilliant at supressing external noise. I could hear nothing in a busy loud kitchen throughout the testing. The industrial design also feels fantastic and you know they are worth every penny of the £200 that they cost. I don't have the money to afford these right now but if I had, I'd buy them in an instant.

Previously not convinced of value but plugged into Ubuntu box and worked perfectly. Great sound. Comfy.
