Bear Grylls: Born Survivor, Sahara Episode

*****

Photo from C4 . This is the second series of the Bear Grylls survival guide but the Sahara, Part 2 was the first episode I've managed to catch. It began with Bear being dropped from a low flying helicopter in the desert, continued with...

Celebrity Banisteoir (Wicklow vs Westmeath)

*****

Well she finally showed her true colours. A woman whose entire political career has been dedicated entirely to her political career couldn't be arsed getting out of bed on a Sunday to be the Maryland coach. I was thrilled that they won, just to stick...

Celebrity Apprentice USA

*****

We're now halfway through this series and I'm really enjoying it. I'm a fan of the normal Apprentice series, both the American version with Donald Trump and the British version with Sir Alan Sugar. This is the seventh series of the...

Dirty Sexy Money

*****

I started off liking this and hoped it would go in a particular direction but it's degenerated badly after only four episodes. The focus on the bimbos and nitwits is very annoying. The interesting characters are Tripp and his wife. Even the Senator son who likes trannies could have some decent story lines if they tried. Initially the priest son had potential too. But it has all been squandered by turning them into incredibly boring caricatures. Who, apart from Hollywood execs, would think that anyone else would find rich self-obsessed spoiled brats interesting?

Foyles War, ITV

*****

Not sure why I watch it. Foyle has a similar range of annoying expressions as H (need I explain?). And the best thing about the actress Honeysuckle Weeks is her name. Slow moving and kinda dull.

I wanted Nell and her team to win. Despite her grumpiness, the affection was clear. Great TV if weak football

Doctor Who (2008, S04E01)

The previews of "Partners in Crime" had me worried but they were wrong, a great fun episode to launch the new series. My biggest concern, Catherine Tate, turns out to be a pleasant surprise and I think she'll fit in well. The plot is one of the more...

Torchwood (Exit Wounds, S02E13)

*****

Wow, they pulled it off, absolute highlight of the season. Utterly riveting, feelings of sadness, empathy and loss. Why can't they deliver at this level all the time. But no cliffhanger? Captain John's first appearance in the show was silly, high camp...
